KIT Rising II review by Götz Kühnemund
Götz Kühnemund, editor of German Deaf Forever magazine writes:
And just when you think there's nothing more to come, VENOM INC. present you the best show Mantas, Cronos and Abaddon have done in their changing band line-ups since the '96 reunion (Dynamo Open Air)! Cronos and Abaddon are not there, but that doesn't matter at all, because Tony Dolan (the "Demolition Man") is MUCH closer to the original Venom spirit than Cronos, who seems rather embarrassing nowadays. And with his sidekick Mantas Tony gets along splendidly, you can see that immediately. The band seems to have a lot of fun replaying the '84 "Hell At Hammersmith" set, leaving out all the younger songs. So from 'Witching Hour' to 'Bloodlust' there are ONLY classics, fired into the Posthalle with maximum joy of playing, with good sound and cheering from the enthusiastic Venom maniacs. The drum kit has four bass drums, there are small catwalks on the left and right, and pyros and fire are set up, whatever is possible in such a hall. The illusion is perfect: We celebrate the triumph of the most chaotic NWOBHM band of all at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1984. A grandiose festival finale!
